You step into the shower and the water hits just right, and by the time you're toweling off, that first cup is already doing the same thing—apricot and jasmine steaming up out of the mug like the day is finally getting its act together. You take a sip of that candied lemon finish and just stand there in the kitchen in your towel, fully convinced this is the best five minutes of your whole morning.
We’re happy to finally introduce this coffee to you. Another lot we selected in Ethiopia this February is on our shelves and our grinders. This one brings brightness, clarity and sparkling sensation only wahsed Ethiopia can bring. Bursting with flavour it’s a coffee we almost forgot existed.
Across the landscape of the Woreda Haru region, wild coffee trees grow naturally and are harvested and processed to provide a significant source of income for local communities. Coffee plays a central role in the area, with cultivated coffee trees covering more than 50 square kilometres of the landscape. Approximately 20% of the surrounding land is fertile and used for agricultural cultivation, including coffee production, while another 20% consists of swamps and marshlands.
The washing stations in this region were among the first locations in Ethiopia where Project Origin implemented its Carbonic Maceration processing techniques. Through initial trials and experimentation at these sites, Project Origin refined these methods and successfully expanded them to many other washing stations, helping produce distinctive and exceptional coffees.
